25 Amazing Authors & Their Must-Read Books
Rhonda McKnight, Award-winning & Bestselling Author
“Believe in yourself. Everyone won't support your writing. Most people won't, so be okay with 'you' being the only person who does.”
Rhonda McKnight is the author of 21 novels and novellas which include several award-winning bestsellers, including An Inconvenient Friend, What Kind of Fool, and Breaking All The Rules. She is the winner of the 2015 Emma Award for Inspirational Romance of the Year. She has been nominated thrice for the African American Literary Award.
Rhonda fell in love with the written word when she learned to read at age five. “I couldn’t write really, so I started telling my stories with pictures. I finished my first book at the age of six.” Today, Rhonda writes inspirational romance and women's fiction stories that touch the heart of women through complex plots and interesting characters in crisis. The themes of faith, forgiveness, and hope are central to her brand.
For Rhonda, the hardest part of being an author is multitasking. “We all have to multitask in life, but this author multitasking requires octopus DNA for real.” A normal day for Rhonda includes “walking the dog, spending time reading Scripture verses for devotion or doing Bible study. I love to study the Bible. It’s my favorite thing to do. Of course, I also make time to write and work with my editing or coaching clients.”
Rhonda has done freelance work as a developmental editor and writing coach for the past eight years. She's also the founder of the Write It Right Online Fiction Writers Workshop. Originally from a small, coastal town in New Jersey, she called Atlanta, Georgia home for twenty years and now resides in South Carolina.
