Love can be beautiful, complicated, fragile, unexpected, and deeply transformative. Relationships can bring some of life’s greatest joys, but they can also take us through seasons of disappointment, uncertainty, loss, forgiveness, healing, and restoration. Pieces of Us explores those realities through Christian fiction.
Across 11 original stories, readers will encounter characters navigating relationships that challenge what they believe about love, faith, themselves, and one another. Each author brings a distinct voice and perspective, but the stories are connected by a common thread: the relationships we experience leave their mark on us. Sometimes, by God’s grace, the pieces we thought were lost can become part of something beautiful again.

THE JOURNEY
This anthology began with a vision.
“We wanted to create Christian fiction that explored the fragility of love while leaving room for vulnerability, healing, restoration, and hope.
“Some authors were personally invited to consider joining the project, while other writers expressed interest in participating. After learning about each writer, their background, and their interest in the anthology, we prayerfully selected the 10 co-authors who would join the project,” Dr. Bryan says.
What followed was months of writing, collaboration, editorial development, revision, and preparation. Throughout the process, one principle remained important: each author needed the freedom to tell a story in their own voice while contributing to the shared vision of the anthology. The result is a collection filled with different characters, circumstances, and perspectives, all exploring aspects of the relationships that shape our lives.
WHY PIECES OF US MATTERS
At the center of Pieces of Us is a simple truth: relationships matter. The people we love can influence how we see ourselves, how we respond to disappointment, how willing we are to trust again, and sometimes even how we understand God’s work in our lives. But our most difficult seasons do not have to be the end of the story.
These stories do not pretend that relationships are easy or that every wound disappears overnight. Instead, they explore characters confronting difficult truths, making choices, finding courage, extending grace, and discovering what may still be possible when life does not unfold as expected.
RELEASE DAY
For the authors and the Victorious By Design team, Thursday, October 8, 2026, represents the culmination of months of work. But they also see it as the beginning of the next part of the journey—placing these stories into the hands of readers.
“Our hope is that readers will find stories that entertain them, move them, encourage them, and perhaps cause them to reflect on the relationships and experiences that have shaped their own lives. We also hope Pieces of Us creates conversations about love, faith, forgiveness, healing, second chances, and the courage it sometimes takes to move forward,” Dr. Bryan states.
